Delhi Positivity Rate Drops From 21% To 18% In A Day With 10,756 New Cases; 12% Less Than Yesterday

New Delhi: Delhi reported 10,756 Covid-19 cases and 38 deaths on Thursday, with the positivity rate at 18.04 per cent. Active cases in the national capital now stand at 61,954, while cumulative positive cases are now 17,71,028. The total fatalities in Delhi stand at 25,541.

Delhi carried out 59,629 covid tests within the 24-hour interval, of which 44,966 had been RT-PCR. On Thursday, Health Minister Satyendar Jain mentioned plainly Delhi has handed the height of the third wave of Covid-19.

India at the moment added 3,47,254 new coronavirus infections taking the full tally of Covid-19 circumstances to three,85,66,027 which incorporates 9,692 circumstances of the Omicron variant.

The Delhi government proposed ending the odd-even operating system for shops and for allowing all private firms to call 50% of staff to offices. Currently, private employees, other than those engaged in essential services, are working from home as per a DDMA order.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal Friday rejected the government’s proposal to lift weekend curfew in the national capital and ease Covid-19 restrictions. He, however, allowed private offices to reopen with 50 per cent capacity. Baijal said the restrictions in Delhi needed to remain in place till Covid-19 cases reduce and the situation improves.
