New Delhi: The Delhi government from Monday (June 28) allowed further relaxations in lockdown curbs as COVID-19 cases remained low for another week. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has said that under Unlock 5.0 Gymnasiums and Yoga Centres will be allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity.
Furthermore, Marriage halls, banquet halls, and weddings can now have a maximum attendance of 50 people.
Other ceremonies are also allowed with a maximum of 50 guests..
Schools, Colleges, and Coaching Institute will remain closed until further orders.
The 50 per cent seating capacity restriction in bars and restaurants will continue for another week.
Despite long queues outside the stations, the Delhi Metro will continue to operate at 50 per cent capacity.
Cinemas, Theatres, and Multiplexes continue to remain closed until further orders
All forms of social, political, cultural, and religious gatherings are not allowed.
Funerals and last rites of a person can be confirmed with a =n attendance of 20 people.
Private offices can also operate with 50 per cent capacity while government offices will function with 100 per cent for Grade-1 officers and 50 per cent for the rest.
Delhi had been reeling under a brutal second wave of COVID-19 that left lakhs infected and thousands dead.
At its peak, Delhi was reporting upward of 20,000 daily COVID-19 cases and almost 500 daily deaths.
The drop in cases prompted the government to announce major relaxations in lockdown curbs as malls, restaurants, public gardens, parks, and bars were allowed to open.
Delhi on Sunday recorded 89 new Covid-19 cases, the same as the day before as the positivity rate stayed at 0.12 per cent.
Four deaths were reported in the same period taking the total tally to 24,965.
