A Delhi court granted bail to climate activist Disha Ravi on Tuesday (February 23), who was taken into custody by Delhi Police on February 13 from Bengaluru in relation to the farmers protest ‘toolkit’ case.
Dharmender Rana, Additional Session Judge, granted the bail to Disha Ravi on a bail bond of Rs 100,000 with two sureties of the same amount. The 21-year-old was produced before the Patiala House Court at the end of her one-day police custody.
Previously, Disha was sent to custody as part of the police probe into the Republic Day violence (on January 26) In Delhi during the Kisan tractor march called by agitating farmers against the newly induced three new farm laws.
On February 22, a Delhi Court had granted Disha one-day police remand.
The climate activist was produced in front of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Dr Pankaj Sharma’s court at the end of the three days of judicial custody.
Previously, Delhi Court sent the Disha Ravi to five days police custody, following her arrest in connection with the alleged role in spreading the “toolkit” tweeted by activist Greta Thunberg to support farmers’ protest.
Ravi is a climate activist from Bengaluru who was allegedly involved in distributing the “toolkit” on social media. The police had told the Court that the activist has allegedly edited the toolkit on February 3 and many other people are involved in the matter.
