Chandigarh: A case has been registered against Haryana cadre IPS IG Home Guards Hemant Kalson for allegedly misbehaving and abusing a staff nurse at Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. According to the complaint registered, the officer was allegedly drunk when the incident took place.
According to the complaint, IPS officer Kalson was visiting a woman patient at the de-addiction centre of the hospital. He was carrying a bottle of liquor and a packet of pan masala. When the nurse tried to stop him from entering with a bottle of liquor he not only misbehaved but also abused her.
Till the time the IPS officer was at the de-addiction centre, he was continuously hurling abuses at the security guard, and the other patients and was insisting on taking away his patient from the centre. The nurse tried telling him that since mentally-ill patients were admitted and sleeping at the hospital, he should desist from making any noise. But he was uncontrolled and kept abusing unabashedly. The complaint also said that Kalson also tried to attack her when she tried to calm him down. The guard and the people in the ward saved the complainant nurse from the accused officer.
The complainant alleged that Kalson threatened the staff that he was a senior police officer and also threatened the nurse with sexual assault.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Panchkula Raj Kumar Kaushik, a case has been registered against IG Kalson. Police have registered a case under Sections 186 (causing obstruction to a public servant in carrying out his duties), 294 (uttering obscene words), 332 (causing hurt to a public functionary), 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duties), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (outraging modesty of a woman).

Before this, he has been accused of beating up people in Panchkula. About 2 years ago, he allegedly indulged in beating and abusing a mother-daughter duo in Pinjore. The police had subsequently registered a case against him then as well.
