Easter 2021: PM Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind extend greetings

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended heartfelt greetings to all fellow citizens on the occasion of Easter. Not only the PM, President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu also wished the people of India on Easter.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended heartfelt greetings to all fellow citizens on the occasion of Easter. Not only the PM, President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu also wished the people of India on Easter.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi shared a post emphasising on social empowerment and how it “inspires millions across the world”.

“Greetings on Easter! On this day, we remember the pious teachings of Jesus Christ. His emphasis on social empowerment inspires millions across the world,” PM Narendra Modi said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, President Kovind also had a special massage for everyone on Easter.

“Easter greetings to all! The resurrection of Jesus Christ, celebrated across the world, gives us hope and happiness; reaffirms our faith in innate goodness of humanity. May the teachings of Jesus Christ strengthen the bonds of love, affection and harmony in our society!” tweeted the official Twitter handle of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Easter is a popular Christian festival celebrating across the globe on the occasion of Jesus rising from the dead, three days after he was put on a cross and executed.

The President had earlier greeted the nation on the eve of Easter as well. In a message, he had said, “On the auspicious occasion of Easter, I extend my best wishes and heartiest congratulations to all the fellow citizens, especially from the Christian community, living in India and abroad.”

“On this joyous occasion, let’s follow these values which will strengthen the bond of love, affection and harmony in our society and increase happiness and prosperity in our nation,” he had added.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, meanwhile, said: “I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Easter which marks the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.”

“Revered as the savior of mankind, Jesus Christ illuminated a path of salvation for humanity through love, peace, compassion and forgiveness. Let us celebrate Easter by being compassionate towards all human beings. May this festival bring good health, peace and harmony in our lives,” he added.
