New Delhi: In an exclusive interview with India Ahead, Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde said that 46 MLAs are with him.

“I have support of 46 MLAs including Independents,” he told India Ahead.

“These are Sena MLAs who will not sell their vote for money they are working for the ideology of Balasaheb and Hindutva,” said Shinde adding that he has also spoken to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and there is no problem in talking.

Further adding, Shinde said that no decision has been taken yet on meeting the Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. Putting a full-stop to earlier speculations, the Shiv Sena rebel said that he has not sent any sort of proposal to the state government to make Fadnavis the Chief Minister.

Earlier today, a chartered flight carrying Shiv Sena MLAs, who have rebelled against the party bringing a crisis to the MVA government in Maharashtra, were shifted to Guwahati from Gujarat’s Surat.

The Maharashtra MLAs were taken in special buses to a city hotel in Guwahati amid heavy police protection.

The crisis in Maharashtra’s politics intensified after suspected cross-voting in Monday’s Legislative Council elections in which the BJP won five of 10 seats, in a major blow to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance government. Soon after the MLC elections, Shinde along with some other Shiv Sena MLAs went incommunicado on Tuesday and were staying at the Le Meridien hotel in Surat.
