Fuel prices in Delhi reach all time high after another hike

The prices of fossil fuels has been skyrocketing after a rise in the prices of crude oil in the international market coupled with the high taxes that is being levied by both the Centre and state government and the rope-dollar exchange rate.

New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices in New Delhi saw another hike on Sunday (May 16). The prices of petrol climbed to Rs 92.58 while diesel rose to Rs 83.22. Earlier, the price of petrol was Rs 92.34 while the prices of diesel was at Rs 82.95.

Laxman, a local resident said, “People do not have money but the fuel prices are continuously shooting through the roof. It is getting tougher to maintain a motorcycle by the day. I request the government to decrease the prices.”

“I do not have work for the last one month due to the lockdown. The financial situation has taken a beating but still fuel prices are going up. Government must think about the suffering of the common people,” said another resident named Mukesh.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the financial capital of India prices of petrol were hiked to Rs 98.88 while diesel also rose to Rs 90.40.

Chennai saw petrol prices being raised to Rs 94.31 while the price of diesel crossed the Rs 88 mark.
