Govt Covid-19 Vaccination Centres in Mumbai to Remain Shut Today Amid Shortage

Pune: There will be no COVID-19 inoculation at the government vaccination centres in Mumbai on Wednesday amid to shortage of vaccines, informed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Pune: There will be no COVID-19 inoculation at the government vaccination centres in Mumbai on Wednesday amid to shortage of vaccines, informed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

“Due to lack of vaccines, there will be no vaccination at the government vaccine centres in Mumbai tomorrow,” BMC stated.

BMC also announced that due to the spike in daily COVID-19 cases, section 144 of The Code Of Criminal Procedure will be active till 11 pm every day and night curfew will also be in place from 11 pm to 5 am every day.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, there are 78,700 active Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, while 61,03,325 have been cured of the novel virus.

A total of 1,33,038 individuals have also succumbed to coronavirus in the state.

India administered 47.85 crore vaccine doses under the National Vaccination Program in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data published on Tuesday (August 3).

According to the data, 47,85,44,114 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination drive on January 16.

In June, India achieves another milestone in Covid-19 vaccination and overtakes USA in total number of coronavirus vaccine doses administered.

As the new phase of universalisation of coronavirus vaccination commenced from June 21, in a landmark achievement, 88.09 lakh vaccine doses were administered on the first day of the new phase beginning June 21.

This was also the highest single-day number of jabs in the world.

Meanwhile India on Tuesday reported 30,549 new Covid-19 cases down from 40,134 reported a day earlier.

The cases came down by almost 10,000 as compared to Monday. The number of deaths reported today stayed the same on 422, compared to previous day’s tally. This was the fourth day in a row that deaths remained under the 600-mark.

38,887 recoveries were reported in the same period taking the total tally to 3,08,96,354.

With these additions, the total number of cases reported since the start of the pandemic has risen to 3,17,26,507 while the death toll stands at 4,25,195.
