New Delhi: The 12th round of Corps Commander talks between India and China will be held on Saturday in Moldo on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), reported ANI. The meeting will take place at 10:30 am. During the meeting, the two sides will discuss the disengagement process from the Hot Springs and Gogra Heights areas, Indian Army sources said.

The talks will come just a day after the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to India where he met the representatives of the Dalai Lama.

The talks between the two countries have hit a snag as the Chinese side has refused to disengage from the Hot Springs and Gogra Heights area,

“We have been reiterating our position regarding disengagement and de-escalation. I don’t have a particular update right now. We’ll share with you the information regarding the next round of Commander-level talks which both leaders – External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi – agreed to hold at an early date,” MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said.

Both countries have disengaged from various points a year after a bloody conflict that left 20 Indian soldiers and an unspecified number of Chinese soldiers dead.

Chinese ambassador to India Sun Weidong had said that the two forces had withdrawn from all friction points along the LAC, a claim that was debunked by the Indian side.
