India reports more than 15,000 new COVID-19 cases on March 9

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday (March 9) reported that India’s COVID-19 tally reached 1,12,44,786 with 15,388 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 16, 596 recoveries and 77 deaths in the last 24 hours too. These numbers takes the total discharges and death toll in the country to 1,08,99,394 and 1,57,930 respectively.

As per reports, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in India stands at 1,87,462.

As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 22,27,16,796 , samples tested till Monday while on a single day 97,637 samples were tested on March 2.

Since the start of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in India from January 16, 2,30,08,733 people in the country have been vaccinated so far.
