Indian Army Gets Tata’s ‘Fire & Fury’ QRF Vehicles

New Delhi: Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) has successfully delivered the indigenously developed Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle (QRFV) to the Indian Army. These vehicles will enhance the operational capabilities of the Army. “ TASL successfully delivers the QRFV (Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle- Medium) to the Indian Army”.

“TASL is proud to have successfully completed the contract of supplying QRFV-Med vehicles to the Indian Army. These protected vehicles will boost the combat potential of the protector to the Nation in all-weather / terrain conditions and provide protection while on the move”, TASL tweeted.

The TATA QRFV is equipped with a personnel carrier with mine protection and it comes with 4X4 configuration. The vehicle is developed with an aim to serve as a mine-proof troop transport vehicle. It is also used as a special response vehicle to counter insurgency. TASL claims that this vehicle can also be used as an escort protection vehicle.

QRFV is a 4X4 mine protected vehicle with Stanag level 4 blast protection. 240 HP engine has been fitted in the vehicle. The vehicle also has the capability to carry a payload of up to 2 tons. QRFV has a 360-degree rotating turret on the roof and the tires are equipped with run-flat inserts. The vehicle comes with a seating capacity of 14 and it has 10 firing ports.

In June, Tata and L&T achieved the milestone of jointly delivering the 100th missile launcher for the IAF’s special Akash project.
