J-K: One Terrorist Killed In Baramulla Encounter

Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were also recovered by the J-K police and security forces who were together on the job.

New Delhi: One terrorist was killed in the encounter that broke out in the Binner area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday, according to the police.

The militant was identified as Irshad Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Baramulla’s Pattan, they said. The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Binner area of the district on Saturday evening on the basis of information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militant opened fire at the security forces, who retaliated.

Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were also recovered by the J-K police and security forces who were together on the job.

Further details into the matter will follow. The encounter had broken out in the late hours of Saturday evening.
