New Delhi: Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. Yediyurappa is on a visit to the national capital.

“PM Modi has agreed to aide Karnataka in all development works. I will hold dinner meetings with newly inducted ministers from Karnataka. Tomorrow I’ll brief on what the PM has told in particular,” said Yediyurappa.

He is expected to discuss irrigation projects in the state and the Mekedatu Project on the Cauvery River which has caused friction between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

“I don’t know anything about leadership change, you have to say (to media). During my discussion with PM Modi, I requested him to permit to carry out development works in the State,” he told reporters in Delhi.

On the issue of the Mekedatu Project, he said, “They (TN) have been opposing us since the beginning but we have got our rights. I request them not to disturb us.”

“There is no need to have confusion. I want to assure our state that we will cent percent implement the Mekedatu project,” he added.

CM Yediyurappa ahead of his visit to Delhi on Friday said that he will seek PM’s permission for pending irrigation projects in Karnataka.

“I’m going to Delhi, I’ll meet the PM and other cabinet ministers, developmental issues and pending irrigation projects issues will also be discussed. I’ll also try to convince the PM over those irrigation projects. The PM also said that an appointment will be given to meet him. I’ll come a day after tomorrow, there is no discussion over cabinet expansion, we don’t have a cabinet discussion proposal, let’s see what happens in Delhi”, said Yediyurappa.

This meeting also comes amid the speculation that the CM might be changed, as for months sections of the BJP have accused the state leadership of not being efficient.

The CM has also said that there is currently no discussion on cabinet reshuffle but if the topic is brought during his visit to the national capital, it will be discussed.

Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who is one of the rebel MLAs, has been in the national capital for the past two days.

Patil has already met the party high command and discussed the issues that he was raising.
