New Delhi: A police officer was injured on Friday after a low-intensity blast occurred on the premises of the civil court in Patna. The bomb was brought to court by Agam Kuwan police station officials to seek permission for probe, police said.

ASI Madan Singh’s right hand was injured in the incident. However, no other casualties were reported, said SSP Patna, Manavjit Singh Dhillon.

According to the police, Sabi ul Haq, Incharge, Pirbahore PS, “Few days ago gunpowder was recovered from Patel hostel of Patna University. We took it to the court to seek permission for further probe. The blast happened as soon as it was kept in premises.”

Giving an update the injured official’s health, he said, “A police official sustained injuries and is out of danger.”

It is now being investigated whether the bomb was not properly defused. The Pirbahor police station has now taken over the investigation in this case.
