New Delhi: Rebel minister Eknath Shinde along with other supportive MLAs landed at Guwahati airport in Assam early on Wednesday morning. Speaking to the media at the airport, Shinde claimed that he has 40 MLAs along with him here and they are not planning to leave Shiv Sena.

“A total of 40 Shiv Sena MLAs are present here. We will carry Balasaheb Thackeray’s Hindutva,” said Shinde after arriving in Guwahati, as news agency ANI cited.

His remarks came between the speculations of Eknath Shinde along with other camping MLAs might join BJP. As earlier, Shinde stressed Shiv Sena for joining hands with the BJP. In an interaction led by Development Minister Milind Narvekar, Shinde said, “Ideology of Shiv Sena is of Hindutva. Not doing this for a ministerial berth… the only point is that Shiv Sena should make government with BJP, which is Sena’s natural ally.”

Reportedly, decision to shift all the champing MLAs to Guwahati from Gujarat’s Surat came in shortly after Eknath spoke to CM Uddhav Thackeray on phone.

The Shiv Sena MLAs were received by BJP MLA Sushanta Borgohain and BJP MP Pallab Lochan Das at Guwahati airport. “I came to receive them (Shiv Sena MLAs from Surat, Gujarat). I have not counted how many MLAs have arrived. I came here for personal relations. They have not disclosed any program,” Borgohain said, as ANI cited.

Earlier on Tuesday, Maharashtra’s MVA govt came under threat after senior Shiv Sena and Cabinet Minister Eknath Shinde moved to Le Meridien hotel in Gujrat’s Surat city along with the party’s 33 other MLAs. Minister’s move pushed the Maharashtra government into danger of losing its majority.
