Chandigarh: All seems to be not well in Punjab Congress. Following a controversy and row by the controversial statements given by two political advisors appointed by Navjot Singh Sidhu on sensitive issues like Pakistan and Kashmir and a controversial sketch of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi posted by one of them on social media have given a edge not only to the Opposition parties but within Congress party too .

Taking strong exception to the recent statements of two of Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu’s advisors on sensitive national issues like Kashmir and Pakistan, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday (August 22) warned against such atrocious and ill-conceived comments that were potentially dangerous to the peace and stability of the state and the country.

Amarinder urged Sidhu’s advisors to stick to giving advice to the state Congress president and not speak on matters of which they clearly had little or no knowledge, and had no understanding of the implications of their comments.

Amarinder was reacting to reported remarks of Dr Pyare Lal Garg questioning his criticism of Pakistan, as well as the earlier controversial statement of Malwinder Singh Mali on Kashmir.

Both of them were recently appointed by Sidhu as his advisors.

Amarinder expressed shock at the extraordinary statements of Mali and Garg, which he said were totally misplaced and antagonistic to the stated position of India and the Congress on Pakistan and Kashmir.

Referring to the separatist remarks by MP and advisor to Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu on Kashmir, Congress leader Manish Tewari has urged Punjab Congress to introspect whether those who do not consider Jammu and Kashmir to be a part of India, should be or should not be in the party.

Nearly after months long tussle between CM Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh in Punjab Congress, finally High Command took a decision to break the ice. But in the Political circles it was being considered as the elevation of Navjot Singh at a bigger place and big responsibility.
