The Patna High Court on June 21 issued a tender inviting quotations from authorised dealers or suppliers for the purchase of Apple iPhone 13 Pro 256 GB for all the judges of the court. The notice, which was signed by an Officer on Special Duty of the High Court stated that the rate quoted in the tender should be inclusive of GST and service taxes.

The court, in its tender notice, has also asked dealers/suppliers to clearly mention the GST number, PAN number, Aadhar number, email id and a registered mobile number in the quotation. “No advance payment shall be made and payment will be made through a bank (CFMS mode), instead of cash, after submission of the bill in duplicate,” it states.

By stating that the Court reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotations, the notice goes on to add that the firm or supplier needs to be ready for maintenance of the phones when the need arises. “Defective materials should be replaced immediately by the concerned firms, free of cost, within the warranty period,” says the tender notice.

The cost of one Apple iPhone 13 Pro 256 GB model, according to Amazon.in is Rs 1,29,000 and the Patna HC currently has 29 judges, which means the total cost would add up to over Rs 37 lakh rupees.

“Each page of the bid should be duly signed and stamped by the suppliers/ firms. The bid complete in all respect should be submitted in the chambers of the undersigned within seven days from the date of publication of this tender notice on the official website of Patna High Court, Patna,” the court’s tender notice states.

Under the iPhone 14 series, Apple will be launching four new models including the iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone Pro.
