Pegasus Expose: RS, LS Adjourned Amid Opposition’s ‘Khela Hobe’ Slogans

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing ruckus created by the Opposition, which kept on screaming ‘Khela Hobe’ slogan asking for a discussion on ‘Pegasus Project’ report, the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha both were adjourned till 2 pm on Wednesday on day six of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing ruckus created by the Opposition, which kept on screaming ‘Khela Hobe’ slogan asking for a discussion on ‘Pegasus Project’ report, the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha both were adjourned till 2 pm on Wednesday on day six of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The Lower House got adjourned two times today, first till 12:30 pm and then till 2:00 pm.

Meanwhile, the Parliament Upper House was also adjourned twice as well, first till 12 noon and then till 2 pm.

This comes right after theOpposition leaders had earlier in the day held a meeting at Parliament to discuss the future course of action on numerous problems in both the Houses. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also present at the meeting.

Calling out the Centre for defaming the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi at the meeting said, “Government is defaming Opposition by saying that we’re not allowing Parliament to function, while we are raising matters related to the citizens, farmers and security of the country.”

Speaking to ANI after the meeting, Gandhi said, “We don’t want to compromise on the issues of inflation, Pegasus, and farmers’ issues. We want discussion in the House.”

Furthermore, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas has already approached the Supreme Court demanding a court-monitored probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into reports of the central government using Israeli software Pegasus Spyware to monitor politicians, activists, and journalists.

The Opposition has alleged that names of several Indian politicians, journalists, lawyers, and activists have appeared on the leaked list of potential targets for surveillance by an unidentified agency using Pegasus spyware. This comes following reports published in The Wire.
