PM Modi hands over Arjun Battle Tank to Indian Army in Chennai

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the State of the Art Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A) to the Indian Army on Sunday (February 14, 2021).

The pioneer of the indigenous Main Battle Tank, Arjun MBT designed and developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and manufactured by the Ordnance Factory Board is presently serving the Indian Army with valour and vigour.

The Ministry of Defence released a video describing the tank. It said, “Infused with 71 upgrades, Arjun MBT (MK-1A) is a battle-winning State of the Art system, developed by DRDO with the support of 17 academia, DPSUs and many industrial partners. This Desert Ferrari ensures effortless mobility in rough terrain, precise target tracking during day and night, static and dynamic with a remarkable first-round hit probability. After extensive trial evaluation, this tank bagged the fullest satisfaction and recommendation for induction by the user. ”

“Arjun MBT (MK-1A) has paved the way for the advent of next-generation tanks by DRDO. It is a vibrant outcome of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. ”
