Punjab’s AAP MLA Baljinder Kaur Slapped By A Man, Month-Old Video Goes Viral

Sources said this video is of July 10, 2022, and has emerged probably from either Talwani Sabo the place MLA Kaur belongs to or Amritsar. It is however, not clear who raised his hand on the MLA.

Chandigarh: A video has gone viral of Talwandi Sabo MLA Baljinder Kaur in which she is seen being slapped by a man in the presence of about a dozen other men and two to three women.

Sources said this video is of July 10, 2022, and emerged probably from either Talwani Sabo, the place MLA Kaur belongs to, or Amritsar. It is however, not clear who was the man who raised his hand on the MLA.

In the video, one can see a heated conversation taking place where a man can be seen talking to MLA Baljindner Kaur who is holed up in a corner and is initially not visible through the camera. The man then walks away and sits down.

Then Baljinder Kaur walks towards the man and points an assertive finger at him as if trying to tell him something with authority. That is when the man slaps Baljinder before others intervene in the matter and push the man away.

However, till now no police complaint has been lodged regarding this issue. Baljnder Kaur is married to Sukhraj Singh who is also an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activist.

Kaur did her M Phil from Punjabi University Patiala. Before entering politics she taught at the Mata Gujri College at Fatehgarh Sahib. She joined Anna Hazare’s India Against Corruption in 2011 and Aam Aadmi Party in 2012. She fought her first elections in 2014 bypolls from Talwandi Sabo, but lost.

Meanwhile, Women and Social Welfare Minister Baljit Kaur has condemned the incident and said that if it reaches her department, the department will look into it.
