Rajasthan Govt Suspends SMS, Mobile Internet Services in 16 Districts Ahead Of REET Exam

Ajmer, Alwar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, and Jaipur rural districts are among the list of 16 districts that will impose the suspension of internet and mobile services.

Jaipur: Mobile internet and SMS will be snapped in 16 districts of Rajasthan for 12 hours today as the state holds an important exam to select teachers for government schools, the state government has said. The move is to prevent cheating in exams, officials have said.

As per the official notification released by the Rajasthan government, mobile internet services, bulk SMS/MMS and other social media by Internet Service Providers (except for voice call of landline, mobile phone, and landline broadband) will be suspended in 16 districts from 6 am to 6 pm on September 26 in the wake of REET exam.

Ajmer, Alwar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, and Jaipur rural districts are among the list of 16 districts that will impose the suspension of internet and mobile services for 12 hours. they can extend or shorten the blackout.

This year around 16 lakh candidates have enrolled to appear for the exam on September 26, in nearly 4,000 examination centres across the state

As per the reports of news agency ANI, CM Gehlot has directed to make arrangements for a sufficient number of private buses apart from roadways buses and provide free travel facility to all the candidates.

Apart from buses and other road transportations, the North Western Railway is also operating 26 special trains that cover almost all important stations from September 25 to 26 to help candidates travel to exam centres.
