New Delhi: Noida police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for providing information on absconding BJP politician Shrikant Tyagi on Monday. Tyagi, who was seen assaulting and threatening a woman at Noida’s housing society Grand Omaxe in sector 93 identified himself as the national executive member of BJP’s Kisan Morcha and national-coordinator of its Yuva Samiti. The BJP has denied links with Tyagi.

The Noida administration on Monday demolished the illegal construction at the residence of Shrikant Tyagi in Noida’s Sector 93. Tyagi caught the attention of the media as well as the social media, after viral videos from August 5 showed him abusing and assaulting a woman resident of his society. The videos, which drew the ire of the public, have also led to a political uproar in Uttar Pradesh.

The alleged spat took place during the day at the Grand Omaxe society in Sector-93B when the woman objected to plantation of some trees by Shrikant Tyagi, citing violation of rules even as he claimed he was within his rights to do so. On Monday morning, JCB’s were seen arriving at the residence of Tyagi to remove encroachment by the politician.

Twelve teams have been formed to trace and nab Shrikant Tyagi and around 50 premises have been raided so far. The case took an ugly turn on Sunday night when a group of ‘alleged’ supporters of Tyagi barged into his society asking for the address of the lady who argued with him in the viral video.
