Telangana Govt Lifts Complete COVID-19 Lockdown, Ends All Restrictions

The Cabinet also directed the officials of all the departments to completely lift all the regulations imposed during the lockdown.

Hyderabad: As cases of COVID-19 in the state continue to fall, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday (June 19) decided to lift the lockdown completely.

The ongoing lockdown in the state is coming to an end on Saturday. During the lockdown, the state provided relaxation between 6am and 5pm and also allowed a grace period of one hour.

”The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely. The number of corona cases in the state, the percentage of positivity has dropped significantly and the corona has come under complete control, the decision was taken after reviewing the reports provided by the medical authorities to lift the lock down to this extent”, the CMO stated.

The Cabinet also directed the officials of all the departments to completely lift all the regulations imposed during the lockdown.

The Cabinet noted that the corona was coming under control not only across the country but also in neighboring states.

”The Cabinet concluded on the basis of official reports that the corona came under control faster than any other state in Telangana. To this end, the Cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown, which is in force till June 19, from tomorrow (June 20). The Cabinet also directed the Department of Education to start all categories of educational institutions from July 1, with full readiness”, it further stated.

The decision was taken after the Telangana Cabinet met on Saturday to go over key issues, including the ongoing coronavirus lockdown in the state, and the effect of monsoon on agriculture.
