Hyderabad: Actor Ram Charan resumed the shooting for filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s period action film “Rise Roar Revolt” (‘RRR’) in the city on Monday.
The makers commenced the filming a day after the Telangana government decided to lift the lockdown in the state.
The film’s shoot was put on hold after lockdown was imposed in the state from May 12 due to the deadly second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim took to Instagram to share a picture with the South star.
“Today In Hyderabad, lockdown 2.0 is lifted and the movies have resumed their shoots. Starting my day with a haircut for superstar Ram Charan for the movie #RRR directed by everyone’s favourite @ssrajamouli Sir.”
The 36-year old star shared Hakim’s post on his Instagram story and wrote, “‘RRR’ begins post lockdown 2.0.”
“RRR” is being directed by Baahubali” fame SS Rajamouli, and stars Charan alongside NT Rama Rao Jr.
Produced by DVV Entertainments, the movie is a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in early 20th century – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Kumram Bheem.
Charan play Ramaraju, while NTR Jr will be seen in the role of Bheem in the film.
“RRR’ also has a Bollywood connection as it features actors Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt in significant roles. The film also stars Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
The shoot of the film is expected to be completed by mid-August. Earlier this year, it was announced that the film will have a theatrical release on October 13. However, it is not clear if “RRR” will still be released on its original date looking at the pandemic situation.
The film’s digital and satellite rights have already been sold by the makers. It will be released in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Korean, Turkish, and Spanish.
