He had resigned from the TRS after he was dismissed from the state cabinet over the allegations of land encroachment.
Eatala has also been vocal about the way the K Chandrashekhar Rao government has been functioning. He has also been making statements in the last year that caused ripples in the party.
His comment that the ‘TRS party flag belongs to the people who fought on the ground for the separate state and not one person or a few people had led to a massive uproar.

He has also served as the TRS floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
After the creation of Telangana, he was appointed as the Finance Minister in the state government in 2014.

However, Eatala alleged that the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office ordered an inquiry against him based on an anonymous letter that “hurt him”.
“The democratic spirit has been muzzled. I am going to submit my papers to the Speaker. After discussing with others, I will decide (whether to join BJP). I demand a CBI probe into the allegations against me,” he had remarked.
