Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022: Priyanka Gandhi Kickstarts Virtual Campaign, Woos Women Voters

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra released a manifesto “Shakti Vidhan” for women ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, promising that 40 per cent of the 20 lakh new jobs her party aims to create in the state will be allotted to women.

New Delhi: Due to the increasing outbreak of Corona virus, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has started her virtual campaign. Priyanka Gandhi joined the live on her Facebook page and YouTube page at 2 pm today and talked about the campaign ‘Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon’ and also took questions from the public.

The marathon run of Congress’ campaign ‘Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon’ has been cancelled. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing case of Corona. In view of the increasing cases of Corona, the marathon run in Uttar Pradesh has been canceled till further notice on the instructions of the top leadership.

Today, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra kickstarted her virtual campaign on Facebook and Youtube and responded to some of the questions around “Ladki Hu Lad Sakti Hu”.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that she has time and again mentioned that if you want to empower women then one must leave the gas cylinder practice and focus on the matters of employment, education, health, security, it is important. She added that, “I love New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern. She is very strong, connects well with the masses. If I say that Indira Gandhi is not my inspiration, then I will not speak the truth. I am impressed by her too. Indira Gandhi was an example of courage. She always took the right decision. She was Iron Lady but equally funny. At the same time, she had patience, fearlessness, valor. She is also an example of women empowerment”.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra released a manifesto “Shakti Vidhan” for women ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, promising that 40 per cent of the 20 lakh new jobs her party aims to create in the state will be allotted to women.

On the 40 per cent jobs for women, Priyanka Gandhi stressed that the allotment will be made in accordance with existing provisions of reservation.

The points covered in the manifesto are ‘swabhiman’ (self-respect), ‘swawlamban’ (self-sufficiency), ‘shiksha’ (education), ‘samman’ (respect), ‘suraksha’ (security) and ‘sehat’ (health).

Talking about the manifesto, she mentioned that “We have written a lot for women in our Shakti Vidhan and what we want to do for them, is how will our empowerment happen? Women are told to make a habit of suffering, It is true that we women have the power to endure, but women have to recognize their own strength. Women have to fight for their rights”.

Priyanka Gandhi also talked about the Unnao Rape Victim and said, “the case of the Unnao victim was not registered at the same place, it was registered in Rae Bareli. She added that, “Women are fighting all the battles against injustice. Taking inspiration from the victims fighting against atrocities, this slogan has emerged that ”Ladki Hu Lad Sakti Hu”. If all women unite together, they can fight all the forces and then change is certain”.

She also pressured on the health care and medical facilities in Uttar Pradesh. In terms of health, UP is at the very bottom. We will fill all the vacant posts of doctors in the state. Free treatment up to one lakh will be given to each family. Each health center will have separate doctors for women.

We want to create a system for mental health in the entire state so that along with other problems, mental health of all people including youth and women is also taken care of.

According to UP Congress, there were other rallies scheduled to be addressed by Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel and a Yuva Samvad program which was to be addressed by Congress leader Sachin Pilot had also been postponed.
