Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister announces compensation for victims of Moradabad road accident

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced ex-gratia to the victims of the Moradabad road accident on Saturday (January 30). Ten people died and several others were injured as a minibus and a mini-truck collided in the early morning hours. The office of the Chief Minister tweeted that the CM had expressed regret over the loss of life.

“The Chief Minister has prayed for the departed souls and expresses his condolences to relatives of deceased. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured,” read the tweet.

The leader has also directed the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, Moradabad to visit the hospital and ensure that the injured are provided with proper treatment. ” The Chief  Minister has also issued directions to grant an ex-gratia of ₹50,000 to the seriously injured and ₹ 2,00,000 to the families of the deceased,” a second tweet added. The injured were rushed to the district hospital where they are being treated.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred due to overtaking.
