88 municipalities seats, 34 Zila Panchayat seats, and 168 taluka panchayats will go to polls on February 28 in Gujarat’s Vadodara district announced District Collector Shalini Agarwal on Saturday (February 27).
The election will be held just days after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party swept the recently concluded elections in the six municipal corporations whose results were declared on Wednesday (February 24).
Agarwal told reporters that voting for the elections will take place between 7 am and 6 pm with returning officers and assistant returning officers have been deployed for the exercise.
9,61,830 voters have registered themselves for the election and 1,308 presiding officers and 2,708 polling officers have been appointed, informed Agarwal.
She further informed that all COVID norms will be followed on the polling booths such as health kits, sanitisers, and gloves being provided to the staff and the election officials.
After the recent win in elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had thanked the people of Gujarat for the massive victory for his party in the state.
