New Delhi: The Kochi Southern Naval Command provided relief material to landslide-affected areas in Koottickal, Kottayam on Sunday. The Kerala government has begun sending relief material to the rain-affected areas in the state.

As per Central Water Commission, the water level in Madamon, Kalluppara, Thumpaman, Pullakayar, Manikkal, Vellaikadavu and Aruvipuram dams in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram districts is rising.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged people of the state to take all precautions amidst the heavy rains and flood situation in Kerala and added that there are 105 relief camps set up all across the state.

In view of the red alert for rainfall and possible flooding and waterlogging in several districts of Kerala, a total of 11 teams of the National Disaster Relief Teams (NDRF) have been deployed to the state in coordination with the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA).
