BY NOW, it is widely clear that Congress and Trinamool Congress (TMC) are in an intense fight to prove which of these opposition parties is more relevant. In this video, we will tell you how the fight between TMC and Congress has left the other opposition parties in a fix.
After Mamata Banerjee said without mincing words that UPA, a Centre-Left alliance led by Congress in the past, does not exist, there was no end to the political fight. Soon after, the Congress party called TMC a ‘B team’ of the BJP, accusing them of helping fascist forces by fighting against the grand old party.
The back and forth continued with Derek O’Brien asking Congress to introspect and Adhir Ranjan Chaudhry calling Mamata Banerjee an informer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
But in all of this, the Bharatiya Janata Party is looking for an advantage. Politically, TMC and Congress fighting amongst each other for the top spot, breaking each other’s party, works well for the BJP.
At a time when there is an attempt among the opposition ranks to establish a coalition against the Modi-Shah duo, the bickering between TMC and Congress has further split the Opposition.
Other political parties now don’t know which way to go, whether to join an opposition led by Congress or the one led by Mamata Banerjee?
Let’s also not forget, in the dinner meeting called by senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal, many in the Opposition suggested that till the time Congress can’t get its house in order, it’s difficult to keep the opposition parties together. A suggestion which became reality when TMC tapped on this loophole to break away from the Congress.
So is a Congress-mukt (free of Congress) Opposition possible or will the TMC Congress face off ultimately help the ruling BJP?
