New Delhi: Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK chief MK Stalin met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Sonia Gandhi at her residence today.
This is the first meeting between Stalin and Sonia Gandhi after the DMK-Congress alliance was elected to power in the recently-concluded assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
The leaders are said to have discussed the schemes and policies of the newly formed government in the state of Tamil Nadu, where Congress is a junior partner.
“Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and I had the pleasure of meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Shri M. K. Stalin and Smt. Durgavathy Stalin earlier today,” Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter. “We will keep working with the DMK to build a strong and prosperous state for the Tamil people,” added the Congress leader.
Stalin had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. The two had discussed various issues like New Education Policy, Covid-19 vaccine doses for Tamil Nadu, scrapping of NEET exam during the meeting.
