New Delhi: Abhinav Bindra has presented Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Neeraj Chopra with a puppy named ‘Tokyo’.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Abhinav posted a picture with Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj Chopra.
In the photo Abhinav can be seen gifting a Golden Retriever puppy to the 23-year-old.
Bindra also wished Neeraj luck for the Paris Olympics, which is scheduled to be held in 2024.
Bindra wrote, “Was a pleasure to meet and interact with India’s golden man @Neeraj_chopra1 ! I hope that “Tokyo” will be a supportive friend and motivate you to get a sibling named Paris for him in 2024 !”
The 23-year-old Chopra created history as he became the first from the country to win a gold in track and field in the Olympics.
Neeraj stands second with a score of 1315, only behind Germany’s Johannes Vetter who leads the chart with a score of 1396. Behind Chopra, Poland’s Marcin Krukowski is at third, Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch (four) and Germany’s Julian Weber (five) at the top five in the rankings.
He threw the javelin to a distance of 87.58m to pick the yellow metal at the Tokyo Games.
Neeraj had 143,000 followers before the Olympics but now has a staggering 3.2million, making him the most followed track and field athlete in the world. “Still processing this feeling,” he posted.
