After being crushed in the first T20, India came roaring back in the second T20I to thrash the visitors by six wickets on March 14 to level the series 1-1 on the back of Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan’s blistering batting display.

Skipper Kohli also played an inspirational unbeaten knock of 73 runs after Ishan had handed India the perfect start on the night.

In chase of a target score of 165 runs, India lost opener KL Rahul early on for a duck after he was caught behind off Sam Curran’s delivery. However, Kishan abd Kohli then formed a formidable stand in the middle and took the hosts over the 50-run mark in the sixth over.

England spinner Abdul Rashid, after getting hit for back-to-back sixes, made a comeback in the same over and dismissed Kishan off the last delivery of the 10th over. Rishabh Pant joined the attack next smashed a quick fire 26 off just 13 balls before getting out.

Kohli and Shreyas Iyer then calmed things down for the home side as they eased to victory with by four wickets and 13 balls to spare.
