Team India skipper Virat Kohli has added yet another accolade to his illustrious list of achievements as he became the first ever cricketer to hit 100 million followers on Instagram on Monday (March 1).
With this, Kohli has joined the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus and Portugal), Neymar (PSG and Brazil), Lionel Messi (Argentine and Barca), Hollywood actor and former pro-wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, American pop-singers Beyonce and Ariana Grande in the 100 million followers club.
The Indian skipper is also now the fourth most followed athlete on the photo and video sharing platform. While Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list (sportsperson) with his 266 million IG followers, Leo Messi is close second on the list with 187 million followers on the platform.
Meanwhile, after an embarrassing loss in the first Test against England, Kohli’s India pulled it back in the next two matches.
Team India registered a smashing 10-wicket win over England in the pink-ball Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday (February 25) to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
As a result of the Three Lions’s loss in the 3rd Test, they are now out of the race for a place in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
India and England will once again face each other for the final Test match at Narendra Modi Stadium from March 4 onwards.
