Sachin Tendulkar hospitalised as precautionary measure days after testing positive for COVID

It was later found out that he was admitted as a precautionary measure and all his health parameters are stable at the moment.

New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Friday (April 2) was hospitalised a few days after testing positive for COVID. However, it was later found out that he was admitted as a precautionary measure and all his health parameters are stable at the moment.

Tendulkar tweeted “Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone.”

“Wishing all Indians & my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup win,” he added to celebrate the 10- year anniversary of the 2011 World Cup win.

On March 27, the former right hand batman had released a statement which said “I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure COVID is kept at bay. However, I’ve tested positive today following mild symptoms.”

He also added that he was going into self isolation and was following all the social distancing norms as advised by the doctors.

A host of celebrities have tested positive for COVID ever since a fresh surge of cases. India on Friday reported  81,466 new cases which is the biggest spike in 2021.

Maharashtra continues to remain the most affected state with 43183 new cases reported on April 1. Mumbai, which is the hometown of Tendulkar, is a hotspot too.
