India administered more than 111 million COVID-19 doses till April 14 morning registering a dip from yesterday.
The doses administered showed a dip from 35,19,987 doses to 29,33,418 doses in the last 24 hours, as per government data.
The COVID-19 tally in the country rose for the third consecutive day, as India reported 1,31,968 new COVID-19 cases on April 8.
New coronavirus cases in the country stayed above 1,00,000-mark for the second consecutive day on Thursday. The latest data shows, India reported 1,26,789 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The sudden surge in numbers pushed the total tally as 1,28,01,785 cases were reported till April 6.
More than 48 lakh people have been vaccinated so far, says Dr K Sudhakar, Health and Medical Education Minister of Karnataka.
More than 83 million doses have been administered in India so far.
As per Union Health Ministry data, the total number of cases also increased to 1,25,89,067 cases, while total recoveries have slowed down and reached 1,16,82,136 cases, till Monday.
In terms of total active cases, five states – Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Punjab cumulatively account for 77.3 per cent of the total active cases in the country.
The number of deaths on Saturday too showed a dangerous rise, as 714 people lost their lives in the country due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, as per the data.
