The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education declared the results of the 12th board exams on July 22 . Rumana Sultana from Murshidabad has aced the state board exams by scoring 499 out of 500 marks to become the lone topper in the Class 12 results. Sultana’s parents are extremely happy with Sultana’s achievement and feel that it was all because of tireless efforts and immense dedication.
This is for the first time that a lone girl from the entire state has topped to get 99.8% in class 12 state board exams. The WBCHSE President, Mahua Das while declaring the WB Class 12th result said that the pass percentage among boys stood at 97.7 %, whereas it stood at 97.69 among girls. However, because exams could not be conducted, no merit list was declared this year.
Sultana, who is fond of penning down poems says that her health issues didn’t allow her to study for more than 5 hours a day. In 2019, she was ranked 8th in secondary examination.
