‘Baby Shark’ has become the first YouTube video to cross 10 billion views. Before reaching this milestone, the video had become the most viewed on YouTube in November 2020. The song had also entered Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
The South-Korean children’s song was released in 2016 by Pinkfong and achieved soaring popularity very soon. Before Baby Shark, it was the highly popular song Despacito that had garnered 7.7 billion views.
“We are delighted to announce that our beloved Baby Shark has recorded another remarkable milestone,” Min-seok Kim, CEO of the Pinkfong company, told in a statement.
The second most-viewed video on YouTube now is Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito”, after getting dethroned from the first position.
