Kashmir Valley witnessed three back to back killings on 6th of October.
The first resulted in the killing was of Kashmiri Pandit owner of the famous Bindroo Medicate in Iqbal Park, Srinagar.
According to the police the terrorists fired upon Bindroo near Iqbal Park Srinagar.
Makhan Lal Bindroo, as the news reports have now identified him, was among the few thousands of Kashmiri Pandits who had stayed back in the Valley in the early 1990s while the rest of the community fled to safer areas in Jammu and the rest of the country. According to some people who knew him, Bindroo had firmly refused the advice of his community members to leave and not because of his business in the Valley.
Makhan Lal Bindroo who was in his early 70s was prominent among Kashmiri masses.
Bindroo’s daughter condemned the act of militants and said she is a brave daughter who won’t shed a single tear and stand strongly against those who carry stones and guns in their hands.
Former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah too visited Bindroo’s house and paid his condolences to the family.
Reportedly, this year almost 30 Civilians have been shot dead by militants which include seven people from minority community.
