Kavya Madappa and Nikhil Reddy, the founders of Bluecat Paper, run a business in Bengaluru, that manufactures 100% sustainable tree-free paper. Worried by the massive cutting of trees for wood pulp to make paper, Kavya came up with this eco-friendly alternative in 2018.

These handmade papers are created using cotton, coffee husk, lemon grass, banana, mulberry and more. Bluecat Paper first collects the waste, segregates them and then turns them into pulp to make paper. Through this, the company is helping save 80,000 trees from being cut. Bluecat Paper produces extremely clean paper with no added chemicals.

From colourful notebooks, bags, giftwraps and coasters, Bluecat Paper produces 600 different products using handmade paper.

Papermaking requires a lot of water, and Bluecat Paper ensures that the water used in their factory is reutilized for production. This is saving nearly 60,000 litres of water everyday.

Bluecat Paper is on a mission to bring tree-free paper to the mainstream, so that we can save our trees for a greener future.
