Inspired by boxing stars like Mary Kom, these budding boxers from Bhagalpur are training in the hope that one day they will illuminate the name of their country. For this, the government is also encouraging the young boxers by setting up a boxing ring in the district. However, what’s stopping them is the dilapidated condition of this government aid.

Not only does the pathetic condition of the ring hamper their practice but it also scares the boxers to step inside the ring.

Most of the state and national boxers have been trained in this makeshift ring. The ring was set up by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to give tribute to the two female players of Bhagalpur who had won medals for the country. According to the players heavy rainfall and lack of management are majorly contributing to the misery.

The District Magistrate has also said the in order to encourage the young boxers, Bhagalpur will soon have cricket, basketball and tennis grounds which can facilitate state level tournaments in the district.
