Corona Warrior: UP’s Archana Devi Beats Covid-19 With The Help Of His Son, Recovers After 100 Days

Probably one of the longest hospitalisations in India, Devi has beaten coronavirus and has walked out of the hospital on 30th July 2021.

The second wave of Covid-19 has left a devastating impact over India. The scenario of hospitals running out of beds and oxygen supplies still haunt the minds of every Indian today. But tales of people who defeated the deadly virus amid the havoc are worth narrating.

On April 21, a 45-year-old woman from Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh was admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College for Covid-19 treatment. That day, India had recorded what was then the world’s highest single-day spike recording over 3 Lakh Covid-19 cases. Her condition was deteriorating and her family had all but given up.

But after many scares and near-misses for over 100 days, Archana Devi has finally won the battle against Covid-19. Probably one of the longest hospitalisations in India, Devi has beaten coronavirus and has walked out of the hospital on 30th July.

The moment Devi was admitted in the hospital, she was put on BiPAP, a breathing assistance device for those with serious lung and heart diseases. She had to be kept on this respiratory support for two months. According to doctors, Devi’s treatment was one of the longest treatments in India.
