India reported 24,354 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 8.8% lower than yesterday.
25,455 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this the recovery rate has increased to 97.86%, highest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate reaches at 1.70%, less than 3% for the last 33 days.
India’s Active Caseload is currently stands at 2, 73,889, the lowest in 197 days. According to the reports, a decrease of 1,335 Covid-19 cases has been recorded in the total number of active cases in a span of 24 hours. Active cases now constitute less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.81%, lowest since March 2020.
Relatively, the two most affected states recording maximum Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours are Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
Kerala reported 13,834 new Covid-19 cases, 95 deaths and 13,767 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra reported 3,105 new Covid-19 cases, 50 deaths and 3,164 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu reported 1,597 new Covid-19 cases, 25 deaths and 1,623 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Though the drop is marginal, this was the first time in 17 days that the state has recorded less than 1,600 daily cases.
In a bid to ramp up the vaccination process, India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 89 Crore. More than 62 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours.
