Covid-19 India Update: 31,222 New Cases, Vaccine Coverage 1.13 Cr In A Day, Third Time In 11 Days

Uttar Pradesh administered more than 31.67 lakh doses of the Covid-19 vaccination on Monday and crossed the 8-crore mark. Among the districts, Lucknow topped with 1.03 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours.

India reported 31,222 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 19.8% lower than yesterday. 42,942 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this the recovery rate has increased to 97.48%. Daily positivity rate reaches at 2.05%, less than 3% for the last 8 days.
India’s Active Caseload is currently at 3,92,864. Active cases now constitute 1.19% of total cases.  

Southern states continue to remain a worry as India fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Relatively, the two most affected states recording maximum Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours are Kerala and Maharashtra.

Kerala continues to record cases below 30,000 for the fourth consecutive day as the state reported 19,688 new Covid-19 cases, 135 deaths and 28,561 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate of the state is at 16.71%.

Maharashtra recorded a dip in cases as the state reported 3,626 new Covid-19 cases, 37 deaths and 5,988 recoveries in the last 24 hours. However, in the first six days of September, Mumbai has recorded over 28% of the total spike in the cases that it had reported during the entire last month.

Delhi recorded 32 new Covid-19 cases, 0 death and 16 recoveries in last 24 hours. The national capital reported 0 deaths for the sixth consecutive day.

India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 69.9 Crore. More than 1.13 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours. This feat has been achieved thrice in the last 11 days.
