Covid-19 India Update: 43,071 Cases In 24 Hours, Recovery Rate At 97.09%

India reported 43,071 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

India reported 43,071 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 2% lower than the previous day figure. 52,299 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this the recovery rate has increased to 97.09%. Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 52nd consecutive day. Daily positivity rate reaches 2.34%, less than 5% for 27 consecutive days. India’s Active Caseload declines to 4,85,350. Active cases now constitute 1.59% of total cases.

The transmission of Covid -19 in Kerala is not significantly dropping even as the second wave of Covid-19 in the country falls in other states. Kerala reported 12,456 new Covid-19 cases, 135 deaths and 12,515 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

With Covid-19 cases not witnessing the expected decline, the Kerala government on June 29 decided to extend lockdown restrictions for one more week. Among the districts, Malappuram reported the highest number of cases, followed by Thrissur and Ernakulam.

Tamil Nadu has maintained the new Covid-19 cases below the 5000 mark for the sixth consecutive day. Tamil Nadu reported 4,013 new Covid-19 cases, 115 deaths and 4,724 recoveries.

On 3rd July, the Karnataka government further relaxed the Covid-19-related curbs allowing certain activities, including re-opening of religious places and conducting of weddings. The relaxations would be in place for the next 15 days starting July 6. Karnataka reported 2,082 new Covid-19 cases, 86 deaths and 7,751 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State Development of North Eastern Region, said that there is progressive decline in Covid-19 cases in all the North Eastern States except Meghalaya.

India administered more than 63 Lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours. With this India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage crosses 35 Crore.
