India reported 47,092 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 12% higher than yesterday.
35,181 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this the recovery rate has increased to 97.51%.
Daily positivity rate reaches at 2.80%. India’s Active Caseload is currently at 3,89,583. Active cases now constitute 1.19% of total cases.
Southern states continue to remain a worry as India fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The four most affected states recording maximum Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours are Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Kerala reported 32,803 Covid-19 cases, 173 deaths and 21,610 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate of the state is at 18.76%.
Maharashtra reported 4,456 new Covid-19 cases, 183 deaths and 4,430 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka continue to record more than 1000 fresh Covid-19 cases.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed the Covid-19 situation in Karnataka & Tamil Nadu. Highlighting need to take adequate steps to contain the inter-state spread of the infection, the minister asked respective states to increase vaccination in bordering districts to Kerala.
Delhi recorded 36 new Covid-19 cases, 0 death and 42 recoveries in last 24 hours.
In a bid to ramp up the vaccination process, India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 66.30 Crore. More than 81 Lakh doses have been administered in the last 24 hours.
