India reported less than 30,000 for last 4 days. The country reported 27,176 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 7% higher than yesterday.
38,012 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this the recovery rate has increased to 97.62%. Daily positivity rate reaches at 1.69%, less than 3% for the last 16 days. India’s active caseload is currently at 3, 51,087. Active cases now constitute 1.05% of total cases.
A new study has revealed that India has become the biggest source of Covid-19 misinformation with one in six pieces of fake information coming out of the country, followed by Brazil and USA. The study found that social media is the biggest producer of misinformation, accounting for 85% of it.
Kerala continues to record cases below 20,000 as the state hits a new low of 15,876 new Covid-19 cases, 129 deaths and 25,654 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate of the state is at 15.12%.

In a bid to ramp up the vaccination process, India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 75.89 Crore. More than 54 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours.
A study conducted by the health officials in Kochi has showed that the present gap of 10-14 weeks between the two doses of Covishield is better than a dosing interval of 4-6 weeks. The study explained that patients who were inoculated between 10-14 weeks gap, had more than three times immune response in comparison to those who received two jabs between a shorter gap of 4-6 weeks.
