India Reported 30,093 new Covid 19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest in almost 4 months. 45,254 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this, the recovery rate has increased to 97.37%.

The daily positivity rate is at 1.68%, which is less than 3% for 29 consecutive days. Kerala remains the Covid-19 hotspot of the country, with 95,600 cases recorded in the week gone by at a daily average of over 13,600.

Kerala’s daily tally continues to be the highest among states. After Kerala, Maharashtra continues to post the highest number of new cases.

Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, the regional director of WHO (South-East Asia) has said that the Delta variant has now spread to over 100 countries and the way it is spreading is slightly to soon become the most dominant Covid-19 strain globally. She said that Among all variants of concern, delta spreads most rapidly.
