42,360 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. With this, the recovery rate is currently at 97.38%.

The Rfactor, which indicates the speed at which COVID19 infection is spreading in the country, is climbing steadily with Kerala and the northeastern states occupying top spots fuelling worries about the pandemic rearing its head again.

Kerala has become the epicenter of India’s fresh Covid surge. More than half of the total number of new coronavirus cases continue to get reported from Kerala.

Kerala reported more than 22,000 fresh Covid-19 cases for the third day straight: the spike prompting the state to announce a weekend lockdown.

Following Kerala, neighboring Karnataka and Tamil Nadu too recorded a spike in new Covid-19 cases on July 29, taking India’s daily case count to nearly 45,000, the highest in 22 days.

On Kerala’s Covid surge, Kerala’s Health Minister Veena George said that they want to trace all positive cases because they want to reduce the cases and also want to make sure that there is no third wave. She said that they are we’re doing the maximum number of tests, which is why the positive cases are increasing.
