Academy graduate Curtis Jones was amongst the goals as Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday (local time) in the Premier League (PL).
With this win, the defending champions broke their run of losing streak and are now sixth in the standings with 43 points after 26 matches.
After a steady start to the half, the visitors took the lead through a Jones which sparked a lot of controversy.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pull-back from the byeline, which seemed like the ball actually went over the at first glance, found Curtis at the edge of the Sheffield United penalty box and the 20-year-old applied a precise finish to hand his side an early lead.

Liverpool’s lead doubled in the 65th minute after Roberto Firmino’s deflected shot found the back of the net. However, the goal went down as a Kean Bryan own goal.
With their tales up, Jurgen Klopp’s side will next take on Chelsea in the Premier League on Thursday (March 4).
